A sound can get more punch if it stays on the attack peak level a little bit longer. The ADSR envelope immediately starts decaying, but the ADDSR envelope can do it.

Multiple attacks
Multiple attacks can be used for claps or brass sounds (the irregular lip flattering at the beginning of the sound). Slower attacks are good for filtermod, panning or whatever you can think of.
The first two examples are fast "multiattacks", the other two slower ones. The pulse/delay idea is by G. Ransom, the settings for the EnvMult are by g2ian.
